As part of World Environment Day 2026, the Forest Department, Dharmapuri District, conducted tree plantation and environmental awareness activities across the district under the guidance of the District Forest Officer. A tree plantation drive was organized at Teachers Training Institute, Settikarai, with the participation of the District Forest Officer and Forest Range Officers. The Hon'ble MLA, Pennagaram, also participated in a plantation programme along with Forest Department officials. Further, plastic collection drives were carried out across all 8 Forest Ranges, and the Forest Department planted 5,775 saplings as part of the district-wide campaign.
